Trademark Monitoring

The trademark owner is responsible for policing its trademarks. It’s up to the owner to actively monitor the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for current applications that may conflict or infringe the owner’s mark. With more than 5,000 trademark applications filed each week, monitoring this activity is essential to protecting the mark. We monitor trademark filings by setting up alerts to watch for any trademark application for a mark that may be considered confusingly similar to the client’s or may otherwise bring harm to the client’s trademark. Reports on alert activities may be delivered weekly, monthly or quarterly as the alerts monitor trademark applications, registrations, and domain names. Alerts may also be established to monitor business and trade name filings or publications.
